Water, the vital element of the environment is an indispensable part of human, animals and plants. But water can be polluted in many ways. People pollute water by throwing waste into it. Farmers pollute water by using chemical fertilizers and pesticides in their fields. Mills and factories are also responsible for water pollution. They often leave their poisonous chemicals and waste products into rivers and canals and pollute water. Again, unsanitary latrines and unsafe drains cause serious water pollution. Watercrafts like launches, steamers and engine boats contaminate water by dumping oil, food waste and human waste. Super tankers and power houses also play a great role to contaminate water. Polluted water is a threat for human existence. Polluted water carries many water borne diseases like cholera, diarrhea etc. that take away many precious lives every year. To minimize water pollution people should be aware of its serious effects. Government and Mass media can also play a prominent role to solve the issue.

Water is an important element of the environment. It is next to the air. It is essential for human life, animals and plants to survive on earth. Without water no life can survive on earth. So, water is called life. Pure water is essential but impure water is harmful to life. There are many reasons of water pollution. Men pollute water by throwing waste into it. Farmers use chemical fertilizers and insecticides in their fields. When these poisonous chemicals get mixed with the water of the rivers and canals by the rain and flood water, water is polluted seriously. Mills and factories are also responsible for water pollution. They often discharge poisonous chemicals and waste products into rivers and canals and pollute water. Unsanitary latrines and unsafe drains also cause serious water pollution. Various water vehicles like launches, steamers and engine boats contaminate water by dumping oil, food waste and human waste. Besides, pilfering oil from supper tankers and power houses plays a great role to pollute water. In this way, water is being polluted and creating many water borne diseases like cholera, diarrhea etc. which takes away many valuable lives every year. We can minimize water pollution by creating awareness of serious impact of water pollution among the people. Government should take some effective steps to prevent the problem. Mass media also can play a vital role to solve the problem.

Pollution means the contamination of air, water, sound, soil etc. Air is the most important element of the environment. We cannot live a single moment without air. Clean air is essential for life. But air is polluted in many ways. The most common agent that pollutes air is smoke. When we cook food, burn waste and bricks, huge smoke are created and air is polluted seriously. Terrific air pollution occurs in cities and industrial areas where mills and factories emit lot of smoke. Besides, numerous vehicles such as buses, trucks, cars etc. plying on the roads burn petrol, diesel oil and pollute the air. Again, railways engines, power houses are not less responsible for air pollution. By inhaling polluted air we become very sick. So, we should always keep our environment clean for our own interest. Govt. should take steps to ban the smoke creating vehicles and set up industries away from localities. Tree plantation is another effective way to minimize air pollution. People of all classes should be aware of it.

Pollution means the harmful situation / condition of the environment. Air is an important element of the environment. Without air no man can live even a moment. Air is the survival fuel for human beings and other animals. But people pollute this integral element in many ways. Man creates fire to cook food, burn bricks, and garbage and melt pitch for road construction. Different types of vehicles buses, trucks, cars, steamers, launches, engine boats, and airplanes produce smoke abnormally and contribute to pollute the air. Railways engines and power houses are also the great sources of air pollution. All these activities need to use petrol, diesel and coal which emit huge smoke in the air and the air gets polluted. Air pollution impacts highly in big cities and towns especially in the industrial areas. Polluted air carries lots of harmful germs. Consequently, people fall victim to many serious diseases. To solve or reduce air pollution we should have determined and concerted effort first. Mills and factories should be constructed away from city or residential areas. Excessive smoke creating vehicles should be restricted and more trees should be planted. Finally, to lead a healthy and happier life, we must have to keep our air pollution free. Govt. and mass media can play a great role to diminish the problem.

Today, sound pollution is one of the major talked topics all over the world. Sound is the tolerance and normal level of vibration limited to 45 decibel. When the sound goes beyond of tolerance level is called sound or noise pollution. It is sharp, harsh and unpleasant to the ears. There are many reasons for sound pollution. In cities and towns especially in industrial areas it is very acute and unbearable. Modern urbanization, rapid growth of population, and increasing use of machines are the prime causes of sound pollution. Motor vehicles; such as buses, trucks, many aircrafts, rail engines, power houses, mill and factories beget huge noise and pollute sound. Thousands of vehicles ply on roads every day. The reckless horns from vehicles, loudness from mills and factories and power houses contribute much to increase the sound pollution. Besides, on different occasions our young generation listen music very loudly. Other sources like primary school, river Ghats, bus stops etc. create sound pollution seriously.  Sound pollution badly effects on our mental and physical fitness. For sound pollution, the heart beat and blood pressure rise. Sometimes serious noise causes the deafness and brain damage. To minimize the sound pollution, we have to reduce the use of hydraulic horns, loud speakers. Industrial areas have to be established away from the residential areas. Govt. should create public awareness. Mass media can also play a vital role regarding the issue.
